| The
Youth Activists Organisation (YAO) has been working with the Johns Hopkins University/Center
for Communication Programs, in conjunction with the Zambia Association of Football
Coaches, Zambia Information Services/Population and Communication Project, Society
for Family Health and the US-Peace Corps Volunteers in implementing Sexual Reproductive
Health and Football Training Camps in different districts of the country. The
camp is part of an initiative that is aimed at increasing men's participation
in reproductive health activities and also for them to be partners with their
spouses in Family planning and Child Health. This
document serves as a concept brief for Peace Corps Volunteers that may wish to
host the Youth Camp in their respective sites.
 |
|
| The
camp is primarily targeted at boys aged 14 to 24 years, both in and out of school.
 |
|
| For
the boys to have an environment that is supportive of their new adopted behaviours,
it is thus imperative to expose the whole community to the basic messages relating
to what is being imparted to the camping boys. One
important group is the parents who are targeted through father's orientation session,
mother's family planning session and the mother/father session.

repeated frequently during the programme. Final evaluation questionnaires for
the different audiences have been devised with questions on the key messages.
 |
|
| - A
questionnaire has been developed for each of the following audiences:

interviews are also carried out for mobile video shows and the number of people
attending is also counted compared to the average community population.
